Off road travel
Part of the rental agreement with leisure car rental operators is that you use the vehicle on recognised roads with a suitable surface. As a rule we would suggest staying on tarmac covered roads and that you look into your destinations in terms of the approachable routes.
Taking a rental car off road or on unsuitable roads can lead to damage to the sump, engine, suspension and tyres as examples and you will be liable for all repair costs.
Requesting a jeep or 4x4 vehicle still requires you to use suitable roads and not to take the car off road. If you need this type of travel then you will need to book with a specialist provider.
