Car Hire Newcastle Airport

The Airport

Newcastle International Airport services most of the North East of England and is easily accessible by car or public transport. Having only one terminal makes the building easy to navigate and though it is a small facility it is serviced by a number of major airlines. The A1 is the main road here and it bypasses Newcastle city centre and leads directly to the airport which lies only fifteen minutes outside of Newcastle.

If you are travelling from the North, the A1 links to the A696 which leads directly into the airport. If you are travelling from Scotland, the A68/A696 is the recommended direct route to the airport and you can reach the airport in about two hours from Edinburgh.

From the South, the A1 will take you directly to the airport and from the West the A69 links with the A1 which then links to the A696.

For those with satellite navigation equipment, the postcode is NE13 8BZ.

Car Hire Locations

Hiring a car at Newcastle International Airport is quick and easy. There are a number of familiar national car hire companies that have premises right in the terminal. Based on the ground floor just opposite domestic arrivals, it couldn't be easier to organise your car rental.

Other Car Hire Locations

In and around Newcastle, you will find a number of other rental agencies available to choose from. Travel to and from these locations is easy with regular bus services into the city centre at regular intervals. Durham, Darlington, Carlisle, Leeds, Sunderland and York are also within a two hour driving distance from the airport and car hire can be arranged in these locations if you prefer to take public transport in the first instance.

Parking

Parking at Newcastle International has been organised with convenience in mind. All of the car parks are located next to the terminal building and all offer good security with regular patrols and are equipped with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and electronic entry and exit barriers.

All car parks here have earned the 'Park Mark' award given to secure car parks and special assistance parking is available in each of the lots. The usual options are available here with short stay, medium stay and long stay services as well as pick up and transfer facilities to and from the terminal building. Additionally, many of the car hire companies located at the airport have drop off bays available in the car parks, making your rental journey even quicker and easier.

All car parks can be reserved online for your convenience and their are options for dropping off passengers but costs incur.
