Credit Card Requirements

To hire a vehicle through Car Hire .net you do not need a credit card. We accept Visa and Mastercard debit cards to reserve the vehicle you choose.

When picking up the car from the supplier's desk you will need a major credit card in the primary driver's name to release the vehicle. Rental cars will have an excess amount on the insurances policy as well as a fuel deposit to cover with a swipe of your credit card. The amount will not be removed from the card but will be blocked in case in future an amount is needed to be taken. Even if you reduce the excess locally or take third party cover you will need to leave a deposit when renting the vehicle.

Some locations and suppliers will take debit card swipes or cash deposits but these are not the norm and in some cases on request and dependent on the value of the vehicle. Check the terms and conditions during booking and / or contact the supplier direct to discuss your option.
