Maps and Satellite Navigation
Maps are normally available at the rental desks but they are not detailed and may not encompass the areas you will be traveling to. Please do avail of them as a guide but if you require detailed directions to your destination you should think of pre-purchasing maps or hiring satellite navigation.
Maps for destinations worldwide can be picked up cheaply from online auctions sites, Amazon and of course your local bookshop if you want venture outside. Shops close to or in airports abroad can charge a premium for maps and guides so it is best to bring them with you.
If you are traveling alone or have multiple locations you need to get to then satellite navigation may be your best option. There are many companies offering sat nav rental on a third party basis where they post you the equipment requiring you to return it when you get home.
Rental companies themselves are offering satellite navigation hire as part of their additional extras that you pay for daily at the counter.
